20:44, Augustine experimented on Peacock meat AD 420, John Philoponus 490-570 AD approximated Newtons 1st law with experiments similar to Galileo (falling bodies test) this was to contest Aristotle, Bede 673-735 experimented on salt and fresh water densities (skeptical of Pliny the youngers hydrology). Roger Bacon 1219-1292, emphasized observation and verification through experimentation . Medieval Universities and a belief in universal human folly (original sin) helped shaped the standard of experimentation and verification rather than trusting leadership in non-dogmatic matters.
